Director, Michaela Bell of Aus-Ability WA is an Accredited Social Worker with years of experience of working in the field of mental health, disability and family violence.
Michaela is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers. She holds post graduate qualifications in Child Protection Studies, Adult Learning, Social Work Education/Practice Teaching and has over 35 years of experience having worked in Scotland, Canberra, and Perth.
The wealth and breadth of experience in front line, management and executive roles of community and government services has embedded a strong sense of commitment to strive to make a difference in the lives of those living with disability. Michaela has a hands-on approach and enjoys working alongside staff and participants.
Michaela has extensive knowledge of Safeguarding Practices in Child Protection and in the Adult Guardianship and Administration space. Michaela previoulsy worked in Department of Communities heading up the People at Risk Consultancy Service. The consultancy service provided advice and guidance on navigating risk within the disability sector and training to Staff and the wider Disability Sector of Western Australia on Safeguarding children and adult, specific to disability.
